I felt thirsty for art, whatever it may be and whatever it wanted to say. Catenations quenches this thirst with a variety of artworks that explore the theme of water on multiple levels, both global and local. I was drawn to works that touched on this theme in a way that became personal, either by being intimate and tactile, or because of a heightened psychological and emotional charge.

VOLTA New York 2020 this year felt like it was geared towards the taste and sensibilities of Upper East Side and Jersey collectors. Its overall vibe was one of settled, comfortable respectability.

Nancy Elsamanoudi’s Leg Up marks her first solo show with SFA Projects. The exhibition debuts new paintings that the artist has completed in the wake of her previous solo show at Amos Eno gallery in 2018. Elsamanoudi exposes the fantastic and sexualized aspects of the everyday, reveling in the psychological fantasy her nude figures embody.
